December is right around the corner and ’tis the season for gift giving… sorry wallet. I’ve done a lot of brainstorming and researching on what I’m going to get loved ones this year and have come across some pretty cool things along the way. Since I’m already behind on my Christmas shopping (as in actually buying the items), consider this a push to start yours and snag a few things on this list before its too late. There’s nothing worse then when you’re going to order something online and come across the dreaded ‘Sold Out’. Or even worse… it’s in-stock but you don’t make the shipping cut off times. Worst. thing. ever.
For the special woman or women in your life (whatever floats your boat), whether that be a mother, sister, friend, co-worker, etc., here are my unique and thoughtful finds that stay within a $50 budget. I guarantee you’ll find something for everyone!
- For the simple and minimalist gal, there’s nothing that says *bonus* points than a personalized item. It shows effort (this was no last minute gift), and is viewed as meaningful and special. At least most of the time. I came across this really nice shop on Etsy called LayeredAndLong specializing in personalized gifts. They have a toooon of items & styles to choose from such as rings, necklaces, and bracelets, and the best part is that they all look so wonderfully made and don’t cost a fortune (who can afford Tiffany & Co anyway…) Some of my favourites include: Dainty Personalized Wrap Ring ($44 CDN- pictured below), Minimal Vertical Bar Necklace ($38 CDN- pictured below), and the Personalized Stacking Ring ($35 CDN). There really is so much to choose from on the site it will be hard to pick just one!
- For the make-up or beauty lover in your life you can never go wrong with going to Sephora. Seriously, it is has everything you could ever want and then some. The best part about the holiday season are all the value sets sold by brands that let you try different products for an affordable price. If I could buy them all I would.. but for now here are my top 4: The Perfect Bite Set by Bite Beauty ($29 CDN), 10 Days of Clinique ($50 CDN), Elizabeth and James Find Your Nirvana Rollerball Set ($35 CDN- the white one is seriously amazing), and the Natural Eye Neutral Eyeshadow Collection by Too Faced ($45 CDN- I got this last year and it has been my go-to palette since! Great day-to-night colours all in one).
- For the on-the-go, tech-savvy, mobile phone user nothing says more than a chic yet totally fun phone case. Sonix makes some great ones with really cool and pretty designs for iPhone and Samsung models! Some of my faves all $35 include: Spirits (very fitting for the holiday season), Happy Hour, Magnolia, and Liana (Teal).
- For the stay-at-homer, give her a good book, a warm drink, and a nice mug to drink out of and she will thank you forever. Plus hot chocolate, nothing says comfort more than hot chocolate. I’ve concluded that Indigo has the answer to all your shopping needs for this one. Believe it or not they carry stuff other than books from Home, Style, and Electronics categories to Kids and Baby, you can check everyone off your list all in one place. The whole store is truly my favourite but some for you to consider are: Foxy Expressions Mug (hey it’s cute! and only $12 CDN), Thymes Frasier Fir Candle $35 CDN, Leather Notebook ($40 CDN), The Girl With The Lower Back Tattoo ($22 CDN), Cravings ($20 CDN).
There you have it, a holiday shopping list you didn’t have to think twice about! There are lots of great items to choose from the stores on this list and they are all under $50! If the budget is lower consider buying a gift with a friend or family member and splitting the cost in half. It is a great way to save money but still give something they will love! Now I seriously need to get cracking on my own shopping… Let the line (or online) wars begin.
Let me know who you will be shopping for this season down below!
Until next time,
